The Australian government has decided to phase out the traditional style incandescent light bulbs in favour of energy efficient or Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL's). The decision was made by the government to cut the amount of energy and greenhouse gases being used in the home.

CFL's are able to use less energy while providing the same amount of light as an incandescent, which means as well as using less electricity and creating less green house gasses, it also means you are saving money on your electricity bill. CFL's also last alot longer than traditional bulbs.
