<< Cetnaj History >>
For
years, the founder of Cetnaj, Mr Martyn Richardson traded
from the back of his truck, travelling from his home
base in Kempsey servicing electrical contractors throughout
the Mid
|
North
Coast of New South Wales.
The
electrical wholesaler soon became so well known, that
the demand to provide electrical equipment became too
much for the one man band. To combat the problem, Martyn
with his wife Roslyn and the husband-and-wife team of
John and Catherine Connors opened the first branch of
Cetnaj Pty Ltd in Kempsey in 'a little blue shed in Forth
Street', in 1976. |
 |
.
Two
years down the track the business blossomed and
another Cetnaj branch opened in Grafton. By early 1990
seven Cetnaj branches had sprung up throughout the Mid
North Coast and the table lands. |
With more than 50 staff and 18 company cars, what started as
a two man show expanded with outlets in Tamworth, Taree, Armidale,
Grafton, Kempsey, Forster and Coffs Harbour.
By
early 1992, Cetnaj had branched out into Maitland and then
into Hornsby, offering customers a wide range of industrial,
trade products and services. The Lighting side of the business
had also taken off, and Cetnaj became not just a place for
tradesman to purchase their gear, but for the public to purchase
lights and fixtures for their homes.
In
keeping with the momentum of establishing a presence in regional
markets, the decision
was made to set up in Erina. By mid-1994, the companie's
strategic plans to bridge the gap in the electrical and lighting
markets
were achieved with branches operating in the northern New
South Wales region (Ballina, Lismore, Grafton). Heading into
1998,
Cetnaj Lighting ~ Electrical ~ Data was making its mark in
Newcastle, Charmhaven, Camden and Wetherill Park.
In
the Year 2000, this was the beginning of launching the company
into Queensland. Progression, knowledge, and customer focus
continue to be key values for the organisation and are reflected
in the various branches throughout Queensland. The companies
head office is based in Virginia, with operational branches
located strategically in and around Brisbane. For example,
Newstead - services inner-city Brisbane clients, Enoggera -
oversees the Northside; Underwood caters for Southside residents
and tradespeople, while Capalaba services clients living on
the Bayside. Along Queensland's coast, Cetnaj has established
outlets at Beenleigh, Southport, and Tweed Heads, while further
North, there are branches located at Redcliffe and the Sunshine
Coast, to ensure customers experience the "Cetnaj difference".
